Personal achievements within the role? Delivering high quality service with patient at the focus point, to ensure a holistic approach and dignity of patient is maintained.

What do you enjoy about being a locum? The freedom of choice, meeting new professionals, nee working processes and learning opportunities.

Most memorable moment within your career? During an echo session on a Friday afternoon, being the only echocardiographer working and no cardiologist on site; I was scamming a 40year old lady, who had recently moved into the area and had attended her GP’s with heaviness in the chest and acid reflux, was to have an endoscopy the following week for suspected ulcer. Her scan revealed a dilated aortic root and a stenotic bicuspid aortic valve, undocumented previously and unknown to the patient. This was the first bicuspid valve I had seen outside a text book. I referred the lady to the ACHD clinic and she went on for a surgical assessment and subsequently had an AVR and recovered well.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Genii in a lamp for 3 wishes. wink
2.) My daughters so I wouldn’t be lonely.
3.) A steamy book to read (Echo journal of course!!)
