Thursday 11th July 2013

The Placement Group t/a Mediplacements have been awarded a place on the new Government Procurement Service (GPS) National Locum Doctor Framework as part of the newly formed Doctors Employment Consortium (DEC).

The new Locum Doctors Framework which is for the supply of doctors of all grades and specialties, including locum GP’s goes live with immediate affect and has an agency supply chain of only 39 recruitment providers (all SMEs).

The GPS framework has been established to provide the NHS and all public sector bodies a multitude of supply benefits including;

•Pre-agreed consistency of hiring costs across all grades and specialties
•High levels of candidate compliance in line with NHS Employers guidelines
•On-going performance reviews for both doctors and suppliers
•Revalidation for ‘full time’ doctors, conducted by framework approved suppliers
•Ability to realise additional supply savings via volume linked discounts when negotiated locally.

The Government Procurement Service (GPS), which is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office, plays a vital role helping to protect front line services by delivering savings through its aggregated commercial end to end procurement solutions and managed service.
