BAA Annual Conference 2013

Wednesday 9th October 2013

Mediplacements are delighted to be joining the BBA Annual Conference this year, which will be held at Manchester Central Conference Centre on the 18th & 19th November 2013.

As key sponsors to the British Society of Audiology’s very first annual conference back in 2003, it’s a real pleasure to continue to support the BAA as they celebrate their 10th anniversary event this November.

This year’s theme – building skills for the future, aims to address a broad range of clinical, academic and professional issues within audiology. Drawing on the expertise of high-level presenters from as far and wide as the US and Australia, the conference will emphasise building clinical and professional skills relevant and transferrable to everyday practice. Sessions will look outwardly to other professions and consider how learning from other specialisms such as neurology and vision sciences will further enhance the role of audiologists and build skills for the future. In addition this year’s conference will look within the profession to explore the latest research finding, upcoming innovative methods and clinical techniques.

The conference programme has been awarded 12 CPD points for full conference and 3 CPD points for the Assistants Audiologists Workshop.
Celebrated speakers include: Professor Louise Hickson (Australia), Dr Josephine Marriage (UK), Professor Patricia McCarthy (USA), Paul Radomskij (UK), Professor Kelly Tremblay (USA), Dr Donald Schum (USA), Dr Christine Yoshinaga-Itano (USA), Dr Eileen Rall (USA), Dr Christopher Degg (UK), Professor Mark Lutman (UK), Dr Sebastian Hendricks (UK), Dr Siobhan Brennan (UK), Fiona Barker (UK), Dr Dave Fabry (USA) and many more.

On offer are specific learning tracks and workshops in a variety of different areas to include; hearing, ageing and cognition, tinnitus, balance, complex needs, paediatrics, service quality and beyond the puretone audiogram. There are also dedicated learning tracks for students and Assistant Audiologists, along with a specific sponsors track.
