Mediplacements are seeking a driven and motivated band 7 Adult Dietitian to work at our client's hospital in Surrey.
The pay for this position is £27-£35 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for a 3 month duration.
Successful candidates must be HCPC registered.
Job Description:
Expertise in managing enteral feeding, including addressing the ethical considerations associated with enteral feeding in community settings.
Proven experience in delivering dietary interventions to patients with stroke and neurological conditions.
Experience in teaching and training healthcare professionals. § To provide appropriate and accurate specialist dietary advice to patients in their own home, care homes, community hospitals and clinic settings.
To complete appropriate documentation in line with the Trust's record keeping policy
To provide cover as requested by Team Lead Dietitian in times of absence
To triage new referrals in the absence of the Team Lead Dietitian
Provide advice to patients, carers, and relatives regarding appropriate nutritional support and treatment options, including the recommendation for artificial nutrition and the initiation of enteral feeding. Collaborate with the patient's medical team, GP, and Consultant to communicate these recommendations effectively.
Plan and coordinate the commencement of enteral feeding, liaising with relevant community clinical staff, Nutricia Homeward Nurses, and the Patient Services Team to ensure a smooth process.
To assess, recommend treatments, and provide appropriate dietetic management for patients with neurological deficits within inpatient and community settings. This includes carrying out domiciliary visits as necessary and conducting joint visits with other multidisciplinary team members, ensuring comprehensive care for the patient
To contribute to the development and production of evidence-based written materials and teaching resources for patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and interest groups. Additionally, to ensure these resources are regularly reviewed and updated to maintain accuracy and relevance.
