Mediplacements are looking to recruit a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for a permanent position with our client in Hampshire.
The pay for this position is £32K - £38K per year, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
AIM
To provide specialist speech and language therapy services to children aged 3-18 years attending Hurst Lodge School. Children may present with a variety of diagnoses, including, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders.
The therapist will be involved in the assessment, report writing, and formulation of appropriate intervention plans for children referred by the school and will working holistically with families and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure child-centred care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.To conduct 1:1 treatment sessions in school.
2.To develop appropriate groups for children to attend to support their social communication needs.
3.To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a specialist clinical workload.
4.To undertake assessments of children, using both standardised and informal assessment tools.
5.To demonstrate clinical reasoning and ability to interpret assessment data and formulate detailed clinical assessment reports.
6.To devise child/family centred treatment plans and therapy goals, considering a wide range of treatment techniques, grading activities to ensure that the individual's full potential is developed or maintained.
7.To provide a high standard of clinical record keeping.
8.To provide an effective high-quality service to all children and families.
9.To partake in service development and monitoring standards of practice.
10.To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and the management of risk.
