Mediplacements is currently recruiting for an experienced Sonographer to fill a locum position in Portsmouth.

Our client is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. The position offers a pay rate of £28- £46 per hour.

We are currently looking for a head and neck sonographer.

Full time ideally. 8.30-1700 M-F

Key Requirements: Able to perform Head and neck ultrasound with fine needle aspiration.


Specific Core Functions
Advanced Clinical Practice
* To accept clinical responsibility for undertaking Ultrasound assessment of a caseload of patients within a given specialty, including those patients with a complex presentation, in line with evidence based practice, legislation, policies and procedures.
* Use investigative and analytic skills to review and interpret all information available, utilizing a systematic process of reasoning to make a differential diagnosis.
* To be an autonomous practitioner working beyond the sphere of a sonographer undertaking extended clinical practice within agreed protocols and guidelines, exercising independent judgment and autonomous clinical decision making in performing ultrasound examinations within a given specialty, which might include injections, FNAs or biopsies.

* This role undertakes complex ultrasound scanning normally undertaken at consultant level, and will also undertake Consultant Radiologists ultrasound lists as necessary during their absence.

The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and hold a post-graduate certificate or diploma in medical or clinical ultrasound.
