Mediplacements are looking to recruit a Band 3 Pharmacy Assistant for a locum position with our client in Surrey.

The pay for this position is £10 - £14 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Job Summary
Receipt and supply of medicines to dispensaries, wards and departments.

Key Responsibilities / Outcomes:
Administrative:
1. To ensure that accurate records are maintained either electronically or in paper copy.
2. To ensure that sundry materials are available.

Governance:
1. To monitor storage conditions within procedures.

Team Role / Management:
1. To develop effective communication between the staff in the Pharmacy and on wards and departments.

Technical:
1. To check the receipt of goods against orders and delivery notes.
2. To process orders from dispensaries.
3. To supply wards and departments with stock items.
4. To assess the requirements for medicines on wards and departments in accordance with agreed stock lists as part of the "top-up" service.
5. To ensure that wastage of medicines is minimised by correct stock rotation and correct storage.
6. To bring discrepancies in stock to the attention of stores manager.
7. To supply "to follow" items and "repeat" items in accordance with ward/department patient requirements.
8. To undertake regular stock-takes and investigate discrepancies when required.
9. To check stock for "out-of-date" materials.
10. To enter all stock transactions through Pharmacy Computer system.
11. To take urgent requests via telephone and ensure these transactions are processed through the Pharmacy Computer System.
12. To visit different sites to provide a service as requested.

General:
1. To assist in the induction of new staff.
2. To maintain the stores in a tidy state.
