Mediplacements is currently seeking a Band 8A Podiatrist for a Community care locum role in London.
The pay for this position is £30-£37 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
Podiatrists will experience and need to overcome communication barriers which could otherwise be detrimental to the delivery of patient care, whilst displaying an awareness of, and sensitivity to, various social cultural and economic issues.
The post holder will lead the delivery of Podiatry services for patients in London.
The post holder will have the responsibility of developing clinical standards and protocols of care in line with community and service needs and will be responsible for coordinating clinical trials and incorporating new treatment methods into the management of all aspects of Biomechanical foot care.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering and coordinating the Podiatric care to patients, liaising and working in collaboration with Specialist Consultants and other healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary environment.
They will be expected to independently assess new patients, developing care programs for implementation by themselves and other staff according to the departmental referral and treatment criteria. The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality clinical care to patients in outpatient environments and have regular input into Tissue Viability clinics. The post holder shares the role of deputising for the Service Manager and assumes all responsibilities pertaining to that role in the absence of the Service Manager.
The post holder will contribute professional expertise to strategic development and sustainability of services, integrating leadership with the aims, objectives and prioritise of the Trust to deliver high quality, innovative, person-centred services. Key Responsibilities- Foot-care assistants, podiatric colleagues, technical support staff, students. Patients and Carers.
To work with members of the wider Community Health team, including Community Nurses. Physiotherapists, Orthotists and Occupational Therapists. Specialist Nurses & Specialist Services/Teams e.g. Tissue Viability. GPs and other practitioners with a special interest. Social Care services. PALS. Voluntary services. Relevant secondary care consultants, their teams, and ward staff. Independent care homes. Long Term Conditions Pharmacist. Community Geriatrician. Infection Control.
The successful candidate will be HCPC registered and have experience in providing general routine care.
