Mediplacements are seeking a driven and motivated band 7 Adult Dietitian to work at our client's hospital in London.

The pay for this position is £27-£35 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for a 3 month duration.

Job Description:
You will work as an integral part of the community eating disorder MDT. You will offer expert dietetic support to children and young people and adults using the service. You will support the MDT , provide supervision and guidance to B6 Dietitian and have oversight of individual clients referred to the service with complex dietetic care needs.

The post holder will be expected to act as an integral member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Department in the Eating Disorder Service. To work as an integral member of the established eating disorders specialist teams including, Adult Eating Disorder team, CAMHs and the Mental Health Service. To utilise the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills when assessing the Eating disorder cliental and develop an agreed service user centred clinical nutrition and dietetics plan in collaboration with the service users. This may occur in a highly emotive, sensitive and contentious atmosphere.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To work with the multidisciplinary team in assessing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating a programme of dietetic care for service users with an eating disorder
2. To manage a service user caseload with the support of the Multidisciplinary team
3. To counsel, educate and review service users/carers who have been referred for dietary intervention and use appropriate language and education tools to meet the service user needs and requirements
4. To ensure that dietary recommendations are communicated by utilizing the highest level of interpersonal skills to all members of the team and incorporated in the service users overall package of care.
5. To provide dietetic support to the MDT and other Health professionals by maintaining effective and timely communication.
6. To identify the need for development of relevant evidence based written information for service users and health care professionals and to review them at agreed intervals.
7. To attend appropriate MDT meetings to provide expert advice to clinicians regarding the progression of nutrition support which is evidence based. This will involve nutritional assessment to include calculation of nutritional requirements based on the 8 interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry, clinical condition and other physical parameters.
8. To maintain and develop professional standards through ongoing continuing professional development, audit and evaluation in accordance with the Health and Care Professions Council Standards and Trust Policies and Procedures.

Professional Duties:
1. To be professionally and accountable and responsible for all aspects of own work.
2. To participate in audit and research
3. To provide cover in the absence of the Band 7 Specialist dietitian.
4. To provide treatment and dietary counselling to a defined number of service user caseload as identified by Adult Eating Disorder and CAMHs teams
5. To ensure that all Eating Disorder service users are treated based on Evidence based practice and nationally agreed standards.
6. To ensure continuation of care within the dietetic service including discharge planning and follow up in line with service standards.
7. To advise other agencies/services on dietary matters as requested.
8. To provide in house training to health professionals in line with the Service objectives.
9. To attend multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
10. To attend professional supervision sessions with the Band 7 dietitian as per the NELFT Supervision and Appraisal Policy.
11. To participate regularly in the Nutrition and Dietetic Service Team meeting
