Mediplacements are looking to recruit a Band 4 Audiologist to work with one of our well respected clients based in Middlesbrough.

Working Pattern: 37.5 Monday-Friday 8.30-5.00
Rates: £16 - £20 per hour

Specific Skills:

To perform non-complex adult diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology, liaising with patients and their carers on the necessary action to be taken. To perform and supply a range of diagnostic and rehabilitative service for adults in the Hartlepool and Stockton CCG and Durham, Dales, Easington and Sedgefield CCG areas.

Perform physical examination of the ear using an auriscope, recognise abnormalities, discuss options with the patient and refer to appropriate professionals as required.

The Associate Audiology Practitioner will undertake hearing aid reassessments, on patients requiring assessment within their current 3 year hearing services pathway. This will be based around subjective and objective clinical assessments on adults and develop an individual care plan that will optimise their communication abilities and help to increase their social integration and comfort.

Perform 'hearing aid fitting and verification' on routine, non-complex, existing patients who are re-commencing a hearing services pathway, using a selection of NHS hearing instruments and a variety of software programmes, in accordance with departmental policy.

Perform 'real ear measurements' routinely as part of aural rehabilitation, in accordance with departmental policy. Undertake hearing aid reprogramming, maintenance, repairs, adjustments and aural care.
